Medical review policy
Doctor authorship, editorial authorship and medical review are different roles. We do not display a medical review when no documented review has taken place.
Role labels
Written by identifies the person or editorial organisation that prepared the copy.
Medically reviewed by identifies a licensed clinician who checked medical accuracy, risks, contraindications and wording.
Display requirements
A review is shown only when the reviewer’s name, credentials and review date are recorded.
A doctor-authored article is not automatically described as separately medically reviewed.
Review scope
The review covers diagnosis, candidate selection, contraindications, adverse effects, recovery, alternatives, red flags and source fit.
Price methodology, translation accuracy and link integrity are checked separately by the editorial process.
Re-review
We re-review when material medical content or an authoritative recommendation changes.
A typographic correction that does not change meaning may not require medical re-review.
Current display rule
We do not display a medical review on a page without a completed review record.
A planned reviewer is not named before the review is complete.
