Preserving records and using Korea's medical-dispute process
Check this first
A dispute process is not emergency care. Obtain necessary treatment first, then use the same record set for follow-up care and a dispute consultation. K-Medi provides counselling, mediation and arbitration routes, but an application does not itself guarantee compensation.
Records to preserve
Keep clinical and procedure records, product and device details, consent, prescriptions, receipts, dated original photos, clinic messages and receipts for additional care, transport or changed accommodation.
K-Medi counselling and application
The Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency provides English pages for counselling and email or online applications. An overseas applicant may need to check the email route first if Korean mobile or I-PIN verification is unavailable.
Documents
The email-application page lists an application, attachments, privacy consent, identification, authority documents when another person applies, signatures and a Korean translation when the application is in English. Confirm case-specific requirements directly with K-Medi.
Mediation and arbitration
Mediation uses investigation and a proposed resolution to help the parties settle. Arbitration is a separate route used after written agreement to follow an arbitral decision. Do not assume automatic compensation or compulsory participation in every case.
