How to verify a Korean skin clinic: booking to aftercare
Direct answer
Do not treat one badge as proof of the whole clinic. Before booking, identify the legal clinic and actual practitioner. Before payment, match the product or device, amount and total. After treatment, keep the label and contact route. Screenshots and one clear question at each stage are more realistic than demanding a separate verification form.
A five-minute pre-booking check
Compare the advertised name with the legal or payment entity shown on the clinic website or booking screen. Search Medical Korea by the legal name when checking foreign-patient registration, then save the result and date.
That registration checks one administrative axis. It does not prove treatment quality, specialist status or every product and device.
One booking-chat message
Ask: ‘Who will consult and who will perform the treatment? Please confirm the product and total amount, or device model and tip, plus the VAT-inclusive final price.’ The booking chat itself preserves the quoted configuration.
In consultation
Separate a coordinator’s explanation from the doctor’s assessment. Confirm the actual practitioner’s name, what problem is being addressed and why this product or device was chosen.
A clinic biography is useful context but not independent credential verification. Do not label a doctor officially verified when no stable public individual lookup was confirmed.
Before payment
Ask the staff to repeat the product, amount and area, or device, tip and shots; the practitioner; anaesthesia, medicines and review; and the VAT-inclusive total. Match that against the booking chat.
If the plan or price changes on site, pause for the reason and extra cost. It is reasonable not to pay when the product, amount or practitioner remains unclear.
Immediately before and after treatment
For an injectable, look once at the package or label. For a device, confirm the model and whether a disposable tip is being used. You do not need to memorise an authorization number.
After treatment, save the product sticker or label photo, receipt, treated area, amount or device and tip, and the clinic chat or phone number together.
Travel and follow-up
Before leaving Korea, know where to send photos, how reassessment would be arranged and how to request a record copy. Report the product, amount, area, time course and photos rather than only the treatment name.
